Participating in Worship
At St. Paul’s, there are many ways in which lay people (non-clergy) can actively participate in the worship service such as:
- Reader: reading the Scripture appointed for the day
- Intercessor: Praying the Prayers of the People
- Voice: singing in the choir
- Music: utilizing your gifts of music by playing other instruments as part of the ministry of music
- Chalice Bearers: serving the communion cup
- Liturgical Party: serving as crucifers or acolytes leading the procession and choir
- Hospitality: serving as greeters or sides persons
- Preparation: serving in preparation roles for the service such as serving on the chancel guild
