Details: As the season of Lent begins, we join in Wednesday worship. We sing, pray and reflect on what the next 40 days could mean for us. Later in the service, we experience the imposition of ashes. The ashes are offered in the sign of a cross on our foreheads or hands. That is a symbol of our frailty and our failed intentions. But we are also assured of God’s mercy, love, forgiveness, and the gift of new life.
